ELDERS
WHAT DO ELDERS DO?
The spiritual oversight of the Church and its ministries shall be vested in the Elders, consisting of Vocational Elders and Lay Elders. Spiritual oversight includes, but is not limited to, teaching, protecting, leading, discipling, equipping, and caring for the corporate Church body. Vocational Elders shall consist of the Lead Pastor and full-time, ordained Associate Pastors. Lay Elders are appointed are appointed currently serving elders (Vocational and Lay).
The duties of the Elders are to provide spiritual oversight of the Church in order to fulfill the vision and mission of the Church in accordance with the Church’s Statement of Faith as derived from the teaching and commands of Scripture.
The Elders shall make the final determination regarding ecclesiastical matters. The Elders shall be the final arbiter of ecclesiastical policy and religious doctrine. In deciding such matters, the Elders shall, in accordance with the Church’s Statement of Faith as derived from the teaching and commands of Scripture, use the standards of: (a) the best spiritual, financial, and operating interests of the Church; and (b) the furtherance of the religious purposes of the Church as discerned by the Elders.
The qualifications for Elders shall include those listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
