Safety & Wellness

Safety Policy

Wellness Policy

In Kids Point Ministry, safety is one of our highest priorities. Anyone desiring to serve in Kids Point Ministry undergoes a thorough screening process including a national background check as well as undergoing a training orientation and screening process with Libby Skillman (Children’s Pastor) or Veronica Meeks (Assistant Children’s Pastor).

During that meeting we discuss with potential volunteers core beliefs and beginning steps in their walk as a follower of Jesus Christ.  We also discuss what they are currently doing in their life to build on that biblical foundation.  We help them grow and mature as a disciple.   Additionally, we check with the church staff as well as their small group leaders regarding any concerns they may have in regards to a person serving as a volunteer.

Finally, further training is done periodically throughout the year to encourage them, give them further direction and vision for Kids Point Ministry.  We equip them with specific ways they can be more effective as a volunteer in whatever capacity they choose to serve.

In regards to health, we follow the guidelines set up by most schools.  Specifically, for the protection of all of our children and volunteers, children with any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours should not be present in our classes or events.

  • Fever (over 99.6°)
  • Vomiting
  • Diahrrea
  • Frequent, congested coughing
  • Severe sore throat
  • Draining nose (not clear)
  • Eye Infection

Also, because of the life-threatening allergies of some of our children, we strive to be a “Peanut Free Campus”.  No foods containing peanuts or peanut products are allowed within our church.  We ask everyone to diligently follow this policy.
