Connecting with God, Connecting with People

6th - 7th Grade

The 6th and 7th graders meet on Sunday nights from 5:30-7:00.  The 6th and 7th grades are separated from the high school for them to connect with youth their own age and to have the freedom to act like they do.  At 5:30 the boys and girls go to separate spaces for half an hour.  The boys get together to play Man Games!!! They are very competitive and love playing sports.  The goal during this time is to have fun and to love each other while still being competitive.  The girls go into the loft or outside and play board games or talk with their leader.

At 6:00 all the 6th and 7th graders go into the loft for a time to learn about God.  Bill O'Boyle leads the meeting and challenges the youth to have their own faith and to be growing daily.  At 6:30 the youth split up into their D-groups.  The D-group time is designed to talk more in depth about God.  D-group time will answer questions like: How do I to read the bible? When should I read the bible? Why should I read the bible? These are some of the questions youth have had during this more quiet relaxed time.

The goal for the 6th and 7th grade time is for the youth to learn how to grow from their teen years to become life-long followers of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We also want the teens to become friends with Christians their age who are also striving to follow Jesus.  We want to have the same vision and plan, as much as we can, as the adult LCF vision. We expect the youth to be in worship on Sunday mornings like we expect the adults to be.  Our vision is for the youth to not only sit and be quiet during Sunday morning services but to participate, listen, and take notes so they can learn right along-side the adults.  We want the LCF youth to feel and be a part of LCF as a whole.
