Sometimes being a single mother is a choice – sometimes it’s not.  No matter the reason, LCF has a significant number of single mothers with children in our body.  The Doulos Outreach Ministry is designed to support the needs of these single mothers as they try to run their home and raise Christian children on their own.

Husband and wife volunteers are paired-up with a single mother to occasionally assist her in a variety of ways.  Sometimes there’s a need for simple assistance, like occasionally carpooling kids to/from church activities or watching the kids after school because mom had a late meeting at work.  Sometimes simple chores around their house need to be accomplished and the single mom either can’t get to it or doesn’t know how: such as cleaning gutters, window repair, tree trimming, etc.  For more serious issues, the Doulos volunteers can access a team of professionals for assistance.  LCF is fortunate to have trained individuals in the areas of HVAC, carpentry, roofing, plumbing, auto mechanics, nursing, etc., who can be called upon occasionally as the need arises.
