Caring Relationships
Our desire is to build devoted followers of Jesus Christ. A key ingredient in that discipleship process is being involved in caring relationships, and at Liberty Christian Fellowship, the caring relationships necessary for spiritual growth occur primarily in the context of small groups.
The reason we believe in small groups is because we believe it is a biblical model. The New Testament church met not only in the temple area for corporate meetings of worship and teaching, but also in smaller groups in the homes of Christians.
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.Acts 2:46
We believe the best way to experience all that God has for us is in the context of community, a small group of people who encourage one another, love one another, care for one another, pray for one another and serve one another.
Our desire is not just to be a church with small groups, but to be a church of small groups.
What can I expect?
A small group is typically a group of 10-20 people who meet regularly for fellowship, encouragement, prayer and Bible study. Some groups meet weekly and some every other week.
Each group will have its own personality. Below is a sample of the types of groups available:
- Topical study groups
- Bible study groups
- Studies w/meals
- Accountability/Discipleship
- Encouragement/Prayer
- Worship & studies
Confidentiality is an important part of small group life. Group members trust one another to carry their burdens. Small groups are a safe place to share our struggles and our praises. When we are sharing our lives together, we will weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice.
We have groups that meet on Sunday morning and every night of the week, and groups for all life stages:
- Inter-generational
- Families
- Young families
- Young marrieds
- Young adults
- College
- Men’s group
Please pick up a Small Group Directory at the Welcome & Information Center, or in the wall rack in the MPA for specific information on each of the current groups. We would be happy to help direct you to a group that would best fit your schedule and situation. Feel free to visit multiple groups to find the one that is right for you. We desire everyone to be in a life-giving group.
