Values

Though not comprehensive, the following comprise some of the values we hold dearly at LCF:

  1. Bible-based: Scripture is the objective inerrant Word of God, the infallible standard for all facets of life.  The church today needs a renewal of scriptural truth applied to personal life as the subtle influences of our society attempt to replace the divine truth with humanism and relativism.
  2. Spirit-filled: The Holy Spirit must be the leader of our direction in the church. This includes spontaneity of worship, operation of spiritual gifts, guidance of ministry teams, and overall vision of the fellowship.   Listening to the Lord for guidance instead of depending on mere human strategies is especially important.
  3. Family-centered: Marriages need encouragement. Children need attention. The family needs nurture. Because of these desperate needs in our society, we encourage spending quality and quantity
time together as family units. Also, we offer various classes which provide instruction on marriage and parenting.  Worshiping and ministering together as a family is a priority at LCF.  In addition, because of our care for each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, the general feel of the church is family.
  4. Relationally-oriented: As an extension of our family-centered emphasis we want everyone to participate in a small group where they can encourage one another and learn how to love one another as Jesus loves us.  These relationships expand God’s kingdom in and through the church.
  5. Team-built: The opportunity for teamwork in ministry is a paramount feature of our life together. Not only does a plurality of leaders exist as in the New Testament, but many ministry teams serve in and through the church: worship, children, youth, missions, etc.
  6. Evangelistically-focused: Someone said, “The church is the only institution founded for the benefit of its non-members.”  Of course, as members, we benefit from fellowship together. But, the purpose of the church remains bigger than fellowship. It is to permeate the world with Christ and His kingdom. If the church fails to maintain a vision beyond itself, then the church has failed to be the church.
